Comments: It seems that Whitney was using various forms of medications for anxiety and sleeping disorders. About 140,000 people die yearly due to prescription drugs. I am not talking about incorrect use of medications, I am talking about the use of medications as prescribed.

I am not against the medical profession in no way. They have saved many lives. But, I believe it is time people look for more natural alternatives especially when trying to help common ailments. It is always safer. No single death has been found as a result of the use of vitamins and a healthy nutritious diet and life-style.

Comments: Well here is another reason to keep your weight under control! Obesity is connected with recurrent urinary tract infections and kidney infections known as Pyelonephritis. Obesity decreases immune system function and also is connected with insulin resistance which is the cause of diabetes. Any problem with sugar regulation will cause trouble with the body’s capacity to fight infection.

Comments: But what they don’t tell you how antibiotics can destroy important intestinal flora which in fact helps prevent urinary tract infections by keeping e.coli in check.

Natural approaches to recurrent urinary tract infections are much better. Of course, when there is severe infections…an antibiotic may be helpful in combo with natural treatments. But don’t expect cranberry juice to do it. It is not strong enough. Good as a preventative but not for curing acute infections. Herbal approaches are better.

Cause of Recurrent Urinary Tract Infections

Most UTI’s are caused by bacteria that live in the colon called E. Coli. This is the most common form of kidney and urinary tract infection. My observation is that a recurrent urinary tract infection is a sign that a colon cleanse is necessary. If

urinary infections usually start in the urethra they are called urethritis. If for some reason it reaches the bladder then the infection is called cystitis.

Usually the body has its own protective mechanisms to prevent spreading of the UTI any further. The flow of the urine is important in washing out bacteria. This by the way shows the importance of drinking lots of water.

And the prostate gland in men secretes substances that inhibit infection. But if a bladder infection is not treated adequately it can spread to the kidneys and cause Pyelonephritis.

Some Life style reasons for developing Urinary tract infections:

1) As mentioned before – not drinking enough water

2) Not getting enough sleep

3) Not balancing rest with exercise

4) Working too many long hours without adequate sleep

5) Constipation

6) Eating too much sugar

7) Eating too much fat

 Diabetes

9) The use and abuse of antibiotics

Understanding these factors we can do all we can to stay healthy and prevent recurrent urinary tract infections. Yes I know that what most people like is to take some form of antibiotics and get rid of the problem. But in many cases that is only a temporary fix.

Let me give you an illustration of what I am trying to say. Imagine you have a whole bunch of garbage accumulated outside cause the garbage collectors service have been on a hike. Now you are stuck with this pile of garbage that is started to stink and bother the neighbors. And you how neighbors can be sometimes!

What do you think will be the result? A whole bunch of flies and insects all swarming all around the garbage. So you decide to get some insecticide and spray the garbage. This of course kills the insects….for a while …..but after a few days the insects are back. Why?

Because the garbage is still their!

garbage is still their

The insects are the germs causing the infection. The garbage is representative of the state of your body’s health. It may not be as ugly as that “garbage outside” or maybe it is worse! Anyway, until you get rid of that garbage in your body, the bugs are going to keep on coming back. No matter how much insecticide (antibiotics) you use, the infection will come back unless a more thorough job is done in your body.

Hope you got the point!
